What should you do before cataract surgery?

Romil Patel explains if there are any steps you should take before undergoing treatment
Face-to-face consultation
Before cataract surgery, we will always want to have a face-to-face consultation. Here we will do a dilated eye examination, where we examine the lens and look for the opacities. We also look at the back of the eye, which is called the retina, to make sure that it is healthy. Once we have decided that you do have cataracts and that you want them removed, we can go on to the next stage.
